Just my two cents, but the points system to me is not reward (at least for those with a decent self-esteem) system. It is a system to be able to historically query for a solution and know which answer solved the problem.

So I can then filter through those who took shots at solving the post (I am guilty of this) and get to those that solved the post.

As for those that have time to solve the problems. This site has always had its share of fast problem solvers. Since I have been a member (I think from the start of the UT) the power answerers seem to change about every two years. They have jobs that give them time to solve problems, then after a time they move on to jobs that do not afford them this luxury. I myself am happy to see a few hot shots here answering questions. But as in gunfights the quicker draw does not always hit the intended target. Sometimes it is the slow thoughtout response that will hit dead on.
