I could install the component and create client install from my desktop computer (which I have admin-level access), run setup on another computer and it would work fine. However, when I install the component on our network server (which I don't have admin-level access) and try to use my domain user account to run under, it isn't working.
Thus, my question is what level of access the identity of the user account need to have in order to run the component on the network? TIA.
I see. You may be an Administrator on your machine but on the Server you may be a user with minimal rights. Therefore, if you try to use your domain account you won't have any access to the data and/or the COM+ Object itself.
I would do what Craig said and create an account specifically for COM+. Since COM+ Object written in VFP are not the easiest to debug I would recommend giving the account full admin rights and quickly reduce the rights to the minimal level needed to run the COM+ Objects.
You need to make sure that the account created has access to all data and directories that the COM+ Object needs.
Craig: if you're out there and listening you may want to jump and cover anything I might have missed.
