There is no good response.
The buttons add nothing functional.
I think MS just like playing head games with us and see if we fall for things like lemmings. To me a button should look like a button not convert itself into one just because your mouse is over it. I bet there is a group at MS that has bets on how long it will take for the majority of people to do things just because MS does it.
