Save the document as template. Use automation to open a document based on this template.
>Mark special entries, that are to be replaced by variable data, with special symbols, for instance, *Date*. (You have to press "Undo" if Word interprets this as "Bold").
Hi Hilmar,
I've saved the document as a template. Then I open a new document in word based on this template. I see these fields as *Date*, etc. They look and behave like regular words. What should I do?
>Use a table for your variable data. The table also helps to allign columns. Border lines are optional - you can get rid of those. If you have 5 pieces of variable data, insert 4 new rows through automation. The table also allows a cell to have more than 1 row - which may, or may not, be relevant in your case.

Thanks.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
