Yeah the ScrollBars property is set to "Vertical" (no horizontal). I finally figured out what is going on. The SYSMETRICS of the new Win XP UI are different form Win 9x, Me, 2k--that is, title bar height, scrollbar width, etc. The change that caused my problem is that the vertical scrollbar on a grid is wider so that there is less horizontal space in the grid to accomodate columns. (A vertical scrollbar is even wider if the user sets the Desktop fonts property to "Large" or "Extra Large.")

With horizontal scrollbars turn off, in some (but not all) cases it drops a coulmn that it doesn't have room to accommodate. So, I need to turn on horizontal scrollbars, or make the grid wider.

The weather in Dallas is similar to the weather in Fort Worth, only better. <g>
