I read that and heard it on the news. I don't know who the substitute judge was though. They only threw out the scores from the French judge, but did not add in the substitute's judges scores. Probably because that would have justified retracting the gold medals given the Russians and that would NEVER happen.

They didn't add them in because under the rules, the substitute judge's score is used if one of the other judges gets sick. At least that's way I heard it explained.
