Are we talking client-server? Are we talking a file server? If you are running a program on your machine that is slowing down another machine, all the suggestions that you've received (that I know of) will not work. Specifics please! Are you running a program that is on a file server for other apps (and other machines are trying to access data on your machine)? I haven't seen enough detail.
