I wrote a running race management app in FoxPro 2.6 several years ago and it was taken over by someone else who passsed the torch to someone else etc... When I enquired about it this year I learnt that it had been updated and revised using a language I hadn't heard of before - Python.
So it seems to be a growing presence.
