The selection works fine however the actual value does not get displayed in the combo box until I tab or click off of that control. Then, the correct value is displayed. If I re-set focus to the combo box, then the value is not displayed.

The only time I have seen the behavior that you are describing is when the combo's ControlSource is an integer foreign key and the combo's RowSourceType is either 2-Alias or 6-Fields. The problem can be resolved by using a different RowSOurceType.

I am not sure that this is what is causing your problem because I really did not understand your description of how you were manipulating the combo < s >.
