Cetin,
Glad it helped. I find it hard to believe that they did something stupid like this. I use ctrl-f all the time. IMHO, the find dialog in Windows2000 was already a step backwards compared to Win98. What I find most annoying is that ctrl-f uses the current window to display the search results. That alone is ok, but after a search there's no easy way to switch between the search result and the folder. You have to click < folders > and < back >. Finally when you do that, the search result is simply lost eventhough there's a node "Search Results"! I still find it hard after switching from Win98.

I have been looking for a good 3rd party search tool for quite a while. I haven't found anything that I liked so far. Usually the problem is the lack of integration with windows explorer (right-click options). The same problem applies to VFP's filer. If anyone knows of a good search tool, I would be interested.

>Thanks Daniel !!!
>What a coincidence. I just 'got' what's going on with the help from Dan and finished reading q309447 and one more there. Was !@#$$!@% for I needed to add a PersistentKeyHandler key in registry just to enable search in VFP files.
>The batch file you supplied will make it easier.
>What a foolish reason and what a foolish workaround. I wonder if XP developers didn't know .c .cpp .asm .xml etc were already plain text files !!! (we know for sure they did).
>Thanks again to both of you.
>PS: For sure if I need a 'find wherever' search I'd be using good old VFP filer.
