I am using VFP6.0 SP 5, so I guess for now I will have to live with the grid row change workaround. My only real objection is that it makes the grid appear a little jerky while the validation is taking place due to moving back and forth in the afterrowcolchange event. I am using Gridhighlighter and do not refresh it until I am on the record after validation, but the moving record pointer causes the grid to appear to flicker. Is there a way to prevent refresh of the row pointer while doing this validation?

I am glad to hear that VFP 7 has provided a way that the programmer easily detect row changes in a grid. This alone may nudge me to upgrade to version 7 a litte quicker. I guess that dreams really can come true < s >. Now if only Microsoft could only learn to market VFP as well as they do their other lesser capable products.... < bg >.
