I knew that it did not apply to Nadya's situation. Am I that stupid???
The article described a problem with REPLACE AND suggested that buffering could have some impact on the bug reported. And "I mention this only because..." should have conveyed that I KNEW that it did not apply.

Yes, and apparently a goodly number of the reported ones too! Since we can't KNOW, given the present circumstances, my recommendation is don't waste the effort.
When there is some feedback mechanism in place I will change my thoughts on this.
