Sounds a lot like Northwest Georgia.< g >

>>Yep, that's it. Actually, what occurred to me was the sounds you can associate with various Windows events, including shutdown. For example, when my computer shuts down, it says, "Great job men! Pack it up, we're going home!"

>Yeah but playing a sound on event a lightweight service that's part of the O/S itself. Not like putting a honker VFP app out to trap the event.

Oh I know. In fact, the best way might be done with C++, and all it does is sit around and wait to process the Windows shutdown message.

Of course, if it's Win2K, a really off-the-wall idea might be to check the last access date/time of the sound file associated with the shut down event. Of course, if someone doesn't want a sound associated with that event, that idea is out the "Window"< bg > Besides, I don't for certain know if Windows actually modifies that value, but it would seem a good assumption.

>> Of course, at the rate I've been bringing Win2K Pro to its knees lately, if that were true I'd be working about an hour and a half a day.< bg >

>You gotta learn to expect less from your O/S man. *LOL*

< chuckle >Hey, I pride myself on being able to bring down the O/S, df.
