>>Speaking of religion, blowing up and shooting was justifiable, if the victims were of wrong religious denomination, wrong color or generally bothersome. People making love are just simply happy and don't give a damn about any religion... and that was not cool in any church's eyes, therefore it had to be banned, or at least made dirty.

>Besides the fact that your bias against religion is obvious, you seem to discount that fact that humping anything is site leads to obvious social breakdowns. Free love isn't free.

Freedom comes packaged with responsibility. If you're free to do something, you're also responsible for the consequences.

>Neither is irresponsible sex. Illicit sex is not a 'victimless crime'. One way or another, regardless of your attitude on religion or morality, you will be rewarded for your behavior, and if your behavior is socially irresponsible / self-centerd / selfish then there is always the possibility that innocent victims will suffer too.

Right, but I assume the grownups ("age of consent" being the borderline here) should be educated in this respect, and would bear the responsibility by themselves, as morally responsible citizens, regardless of their religion or lack thereof.

This is rather about a society and its ways of keeping up its morale. If a society can not uphold its moral standards without imposing religious rules, well, I don't like such a society. It should work so that the people have this awareness of their social responsibility, without the need of introducing some mental structure above.

>I am one such victim. My dad's desire to pollinate all the flowers in Denver has cost me dearly, and its effects are felt even 60 years later.

>The same could be said for adult or child porn, and this is to say nothing about the kind of degradation it demonstrates against its victims.

The difference is in the means of violence: is it physical or financial. Porn exists only there where customers exist. My private opinion is that most religions impose too many rules on their members' private lives, that it breeds a sufficient number of those who vent bying porn, or keeping the prostitution market alive. I think it's a sign of hypocrisy that each time these matters are addressed, everyone is against the supply side, but the demand side doesn't really get mentioned.
