As well as raising the question about copyright infringement. Not supposed to photocopy a copyrighted book. I also have considered sending the book back when it arrives. Not because I am angry but because it isn't useful to me and they might as well sell it to someone who can use the book.
Bruce - I don't want to be argumentative, but if you haven't tried the CHM version of the book, you really should check it out. When you're working on a piece of code and can't remember exactly how a particular function or command works, being able to use the book like the Help is really handy. (In fact, I know a number of people have the Hacker's Guide set up on their VFP Help menus, either in addition to or as a replacement for the VFP Help. I don't do that, but I have a shortcut to it on my desktop.)
To be honest, though, we expect that a lot of people won't have a use for the printed book. That's why it's possible to buy just the electronic version.
