I just had this problem crop up in one of my FPDos 2.6 apps this weekend. I could use the file no problem (the .fpt file did exist). But trying to add/edit/delete anything in the memo field produced same error. What I did was to Use the file, COPY TO TEMP, delete the original 2 files. I then renamed the TEMP.dbf and .fpt files to the original file names. Just be careful of your SET DELETED condition if deleted records are important to you.
