I agree wholeheartedly, I would add to this that the amount of peer-level support on the UT is not always good indicator as some frameworks have their own forum that is manned 24/7 by both the provider of the framework and peer developers like Visual FoxExpress (my favorite :o).

I also have to add that I think Steve Black gave you the best advice I have seen on frameworks. You also might want to check with developers that are using a framework in a developer-shop versus a single developer situation as it may have a bearing down the road if you have more than one developer working on the same project.
