Sounds like they don't know what they're talking about as COM is supposed to be language neutral.

>Back in October the company where I am contracting wanted to implement a web payment facility and a major supplier of POS processing here offered such a facility in either DLL or COM flavours. They had me review the product's documentation.
>
>The documentation for the COM version had a C++ and a partial VB example. Seeing the VB example, and considering VFP7 features, I said that I thought that VFP7 could handle it.
>
>They went ahead with a contract but were advised that new software was being written that included features we needed, so there was no point in obtaining the original and only partially useful software. We agreed, their timetable fitting our plans anyway.
>
>Several weeks ago they made the documentation for the new software available, before shipping the software. When I asked where the VB example had gone they told me that they ONLY SUPPORT C++ now!
>Reading the new documentation, much had changed but it still looked like VFP7 should be able to do the job. I did warn the boss that it might be necessary to get a C++ programmer to write an interface between it and VFP for us.
>
>The software was installed yesterday and testing has proven that VFP7 is working just fine with the COMponent in question.

>Cheers
