No new windows are involved here.
1) start up the UT in a browser
2) click a message from the top right pane
observed - the message appears in the lower right pane, for me it appears 100% of the width (unless it's one of these odd narrow messages that don't consume the whole width)
3) resize the browser window smaller
observed - the lower right frame gets horizontal and vertical scroll bars
4) resize the browser window bigger than it originally was
observeed - the lower right frame loses the scroll bars, but the message doesn't take up the whole width
