I didn't say code scares me, just the oposite, please see my reply to Arthur Burger (Message ID:649389) when he stated that "Code is good.":

"It sure is! Unfortunatelly (unfortunatelly???) I came from a time where code abstraction was the only thing you had, there was no visual stuff. Perhaps I'm outdated... Things seem to be going in the other direction."

What I'm telling is that VCXs seem to me to be a confusing way to put code togheter. BTW I have many VFP program "libraries" (an ancient name to call program collections, used by mainframe programmers) organized in prgs. I'm not a visual stuff addicted. Also I've asking why the VFP team doesn't implement strong typing and data structures in VFP (I still wonder why), in a way we can stop making workarounds when having to call some API functions that are easyly done by the most naive VB programmer without having to use classes to do it (see MSDN library for LOTS of examples).

I understand that VFP, IMHO, is becoming a patchwork to accomodate fashion stuff, while it should have, again IMHO, a strong programming foundation to those who (like me) prefer code (all my classes, including forms, and I mean ALL my classes, are written in code).

"...it seems like software development is getting harder rather than easier? We have so many more tools and opportunities, yet the process of producing software seems to get ever more complex — even for relatively small applications...", If you haven't, please check The Rising Complexity of Software Development, written by a person that I don't believe is scared by code <g>

Of course I'm not saying nothing new to you and perhaps you're right, and I should consider another occupation <s>
