I just looked up 'evangelize' and it means to preach the gospel or christianity. I think it is fair to say commonly it also means (now) to promote with ferver anything. This is just an example of the English language evolving. Doesn't bother me. I think it is also an attempty to differentiate an evangelist (often a techy) from a pure marketing person.
