Yet there is a move in Texas to move to a state property tax, so all school funding would come from the state, rather than local, level. The purpose of this is allegedly to fix problems with the current Robin Hood system, which is truly flawed. And the irony is this...the new plan is proposed by one of the creators of Robin Hood.

Two steps in the wrong direction, I think...

I would settle for just abolishing the Federal Dept of [no]Education and return that money to the school districts in the form of tax cuts. The billions saved by getting rid of that insidious department would go a long way toward improving our education system. The more local the better. Then once we take that step and people start seeing results, hopefully more momentum will have been established to take further steps toward privatization.
