Mark,

Makes me want to move to Texas! <g>

> The negligible percentage that the district would get via Federal funds was not worth the hassle plus the requrements were anti-family at best. I would settle for just abolishing the Federal Dept of [no]Education and return that money to the school districts in the form of tax cuts. The billions saved by getting rid of that insidious department would go a long way toward improving our education system. The more local the better. Then once we take that step and people start seeing results, hopefully more momentum will have been established to take further steps toward privatization.

Yuo.. We have a neighbor who's starting a private school. Currently he's a public school principal and I think he's just fed up. Apparently he's already gotten several inquiries. He's going to limit the school to 250 kids and if there's more he'll open more schools. He's done his momework apparently. Karol said she'd be glad to go to work there if she would be left alone to teach the children instead of all the political correctness, cramming pro-homosexual agenda, creating the school as mommy & daddy mentality they currently have to deal with. Just like almost every other federal intrusion - they're woefully inefficient. The fact prove this but people just don't want the truth; they just want to throw more money at the problem and then raise taxes and empower themselves. Go figure..

Best,
