Try http://www.phpgroupware.org as an excellent Open Source Linux groupware server.

Actually, RH, Mandrake and SuSE come with groupware apps as part of their distro, but you may want to check out php first and use it as a base to compare both Open Source GPL offerings and commercial offerings. Do a search on Google using "linux groupware server" to find tons of links.
