Hey Tom,
I'm "into" what Steven B is saying. It's lucid & refreshing. What I was saying is that Ken's assertion about no thread, no MS, no Ken is encouraging one to move from VFP doesn't take the job market into consideration. The job market and university curricula *are* saying move from VFP. Congrats on your current VFP jobs regardless.

>Steve, not sure I understand what you are saying. Perhaps you would be well served by reading the comments of the highly respected and indepedent thinking Steven Black rather than joining the bandwagon of a version 1 product.

>As for my situation, yes I am gainfully employed - thank you. Just last night I was working on a bid for an outside contract. That client is extremely frugal and wants his work done as economically as possible. VFP works perfect for what he wants/needs.

>>>Tom, I don't recall anyone on this thread recommending that VFP developers move to .NET. ...

>>>Microsoft is not attempting to move or migrate VFP developers to .NET,

>>>there is no strategy like this by me or VS .NET marketing.

>>Hi Ken,

>> Very good observations -- in their own totally myopic & cloistered little way. Meanwhile, out here off "campus" (i.e. the job market), there are numerous reminders that VFP developers had better move to *something*...assuming, of course, that we like employment. Perhaps Tom Bellmer's concerns are best understood in this context and need not be refuted...assuming, of course, that Tom likes employment, too? Tom?
