Not VFP directly, so Chatter...

My McAfee virus scan suddenly has stopped running at startup. This is Win2K SP2 with all security patches. Also IE6.

The last things that I did that *might* have some impact were:
1) download (hardly volumtarily - the boss sent an e-mail that needed it) a non-MS 'player' of some kind to view a video attachment. I **think** it may also have forced a load of MS' latest Installer too.
2) de-fragged my HD.

Noticing that it didn't start at startup (fairly obvious because, since downloading a security patch about 6 months ago, it always hangs) I went to their site and downloaded the latest DAT. Didn't find any patches. I also played with various settings, getting failure notices on some of them. Strangely, when reviewing settings for "virusscan" (what starts at startup) it had a note that it is not supported on WinME, WinNT and Win2000, yet it had been starting up fine since install over a year ago.

I finally decided to UNinstall/reinstall the whole thing. Did so, also loading a patch and the latest DAT, rebooted, and still the same thing.

Anyone seen this? Any rime or reason behind it?
