We talk a lot about marketing VFP to the business/developer community but I think the more important marketing effort is marketing VFP to Microsoft. Microsoft will see VFPs value by how well it generates sales of SQL licenses. By making VFP an obvious and seamless choice for middle tier in SQL Server apps MS will be more interested in promoting its use. I'd be *very* surprised if future versions of VFP didn't move in that direction in a major way - especially in how they are "marketed" to Microsoft.

Charles,

I guess time will tell. I do feel obiliged here, however, to mention again that I've got no inisde info. The more I consider the possibilities, however, the more I'm "convinvcing myself".

I mentioned the "inside info" because of your sig BTW. I guess that makes me a "frocked" MVP. Which is funny, because I never knew that it had been done to me (and funnier because I've been called a lot of things beginning with an "F", but frocked was never among them).< vbg >
