Oh... and you did? Your elders woudl sit around ripping you apart for calling what you called "hard times". Your grandparents probably had no idea what was killing off the people of their time. No idea where food would come from that night. No idea how to build the cabin they had to in order to survive.
You can sit around all day and play this little "I'm more grizzeled than you are" but you're still compeltely unaware of whats happening here.
