A client is running an old FoxBASE+ app on new XP Pro PCs (using the runtime MFOXPRUN.EXE). Without any messing around, the app seems to work OK except that when exiting, it gets to the "FoxBASE+ normal shutdown" message, then appears to hang.
Since this is a PITA I decided to try out the XP Compatibility Wizard. After a few attempts hacking around with various option settings, now the app doesn't work at all, even when compatibility mode is turned completely off in the shortcut's properties.
Setting up a new shortcut does no good; it also suffers from the same problems. Somewhere XP is storing information on how to run MFOXPRUN.
So I guess I have two questions:
- Does anyone know the correct settings (if any are required) to get an MFOXPRUN-based FoxBASE+ app running under XP?
- Failing that, how can the settings created by the Compatibility Wizard be removed or undone?
TIA.
