Hi Ken,

>So - are you prepared to say that VB .NET contains absolutly NO syntax or other language/behavior characteristics that would not be different if there had never been a VB prior to the .NET version?

I don't know if MS would have added features if there was a version of VB prior to VB .NET.

Aryou saying that nothing was altered to appease the VB masses?

I think this version was less to appease the VB masses but more to accomodate with the CLS.

>I have not tested (nor likely will I anytime soon) this myself - but either you are incorrect, or there are other sources with what I beleive to be better knowledge of this that are incorrect. BTW - this is not a primary reason for me as I beleive it will mostly bethe same performance wise.

The IL gets interpreted at runtime by the CLR so if the IL is same then there is no performace impact.

Also, I am not suggesting that you to pick VB .NET over C#. I am just laying the facts on the table.
