I agree. My first small .NET application recently was done in VB.NET (in fact, it was the first VB app I've ever done, except for a little VBScript in some web pages).
It was actually quite refreshing to see that the syntax closely mirrored VFP in many ways, where I still shudder and scratch my head a bit when I look at how to define classes, etc, in C#.
I'll probably learn a good bit about both along the way, but for this first small project, I was was immediately very productive with VB.NET.
