I think we're thinking along the same lines.< wry grin >

I don't know if a single unique definition of bug exists. I definitely believe there are multiple classes of bugs. I definitely believe an element of cost justification that comes into play.
It's probably true in an environment like Windows with so many different vendors of the various pieces of equipment that go into making a machine. I think that the number of possible combinations is probably very, very high. If every driver, and other piece of software had to be tested with every conceivable combination, nothing would ever get released.
