>Very well put on all counts.
Thank you.
>I'll just add that no one at Microsoft has ever told me what I can or can not say about a released product. There are plenty of times that I've discussed faults in the product in the various online communities. A lot of times these discussions involve finding workaround solutions to the fault. I really do believe that VFP is in fact one of the most bug free languages I've used.
I just didn't want to speak for you, that's why I phrased it the way I did. When I read your post where you said that you usually didn't get involved in that kind of a post because of being labeled a psycophat, I thought, "This is a travesty and a tragedy." When someone like you has those kind of feelings, we're all the poorer for it.
There's a quote that I can't remember the source of unfortunately that comes to mind. "If you consider me a tall man, it is because I stand on the shoulders of giants." If some considers me a "tall man", then I can assure you that one of my feet is squarely on your shoulder.
>I can't tell you how much time I've wasted tracking down compiler optimization induced bugs back when I was doing a lot of C/C++ coding. These always involved finding the optimization that was causing the error and turning it off. I'm grateful for not having to deal with this level of problem anymore.
Assembly language anyone?< bg >
