Hello All,
I would appreciate if you could give me assistance in following areas. I have a VFP 6 application with back end as a Vfp itself. The current exe size is approximately 9 MB. 2 users testing the application for some time now. I read in articles and everywhere that normally each client machine should have its own exe on that machine. and they all would access the database off the server. I have a same setup as of now. ( vfp exe on each client machine and they all access vfp database off server).
but then I tried different. I had removed exe from each client machine and put the exe on the server and then each user ran the same exe off the server. that also worked. Putting exe on the server was helpful in one way that whenever i have a new exe , i have to change it only one place. That has confused me since I am not a full time developer and I guess my fundaments are not as strong as you guys
Should I keep using exe off the server? if multiple users use the same exe off the server, does it create any problem speed wise, resources wise? will it be slow then having separate exe on each client machine? what are the advantages of having separate exe on each machine? When i run exe off the server and once it loads in client computer's memory then does it have to communicate to server every time i do something except data access?

on the other part, we have a requirement that remote users should also able to log in and run the vfp exe. we already have terminal server installed here that remote users use. so i was thinking of putting my vfp exe on terminal server so remote users can dial into server and run the program. I guess that in that case , only one exe would be residing on terminal server which multiple remote users (and may be local users also)would use after logged in to termial server. so as such i think it would be same case as above that multiple users using the same exe. Could you help me here that terminal server is the right choice to do so? and also , will it work smooth? are there any known issues.?

I think some of my questions might look silly but I would very much appreciate your help on above. Thanks so much in advance.
Mark
