I agree that religion has been abused for power struggles, and other selfish reasons, quite often. But that, in itself, doesn't prove that no religious truth, no God, etc., exists.

Say, don't you think you should spell "God" with a capital "G"? Since you don't believe in God, this is nothing sacred to you, but in this context, the word is used a proper name.
