I peruse places like Dice.com everyonce in a while to see what dotnet skills people are looking for.

I'm still not sure about desktop apps. But there are lots of people working with asp.net. So I'm pretty sure that Asp.net will eventually replace asp. Although you have to be a real programmer for ASP.Net. I can tell from some of the questions I see about Asp.net from people who call themselves asp programmers that they are sometimes having a difficult time.
