VFP have a local data engine, command window, and macro subs (but Delphi have different approach), areas where it shines against Delphi. But overall, Delphi is a much better tool for DB and even general software development. That's the reason why MS got Anders Heijelsberg, the Delphi Chief Architect, and MS now have VS.Net languages which are Delphi and Java like programming tools.
