Terminal Server will work well for your remote users - as well as it does for the other applications they access.

As far as locating your executable, everyone recommends you place it on the local drive - for speed reasons. I used to keep all the executables on the server (for ease of maintenance) but as soon as I had an easy way to update the executable on the workstation I took advantage of it by moving the executables to the workstation. As it happens, the network saw more and more use every month, so network performance had slowed noticably.

I ended up using automatic distribution software to copy new exe versions to the workstation. I happened to be using ZenWorks by Novell. Microsoft has tools as well - but less easy to use. There are also third party solutions out there. These things are good if you're responsible for maintaining all the apps in an office network.

Some folks around here have built VFP 'bootstrap' programs - loaders - that compare the datetime stamp of your local exe with the copy on the network. If the network version is newer, it is copied to the workstation and launched. If not, it is just launched. This solution is good if the only program you're worried about is your VFP program.
