Hi Francisko,

Personal opinions on your question follow.

Cost:
VFP requires no per-seat or per-server licensing
Oracle and DB2 require one or the other

Security:
VFP has little or no security on its data. You won't be able to stop someone who knows VFP from getting to it.
Oracle and DB2 each have (fairly) robust security models, depending on the platform under which they are deployed

OOP:
VFP has intrinsic OOP capability
Oracle and DB2, since they are a datastore rather than a development platform, do not have intrinsic OOP capability
(you're really comparing apples to oranges here)

Reliability:
When properly designed and utilized, all have excellent reliability -- you'll get lots of "discussion" on this one from all sides about "one is more reliable than the other", but I'll stand by that first statement. Each product has their strengths and drawbacks on this issue, IMHO.

Future:
Each product has a strong future (REGARDLESS of what any of VFP's detractors might say).

Product Market Path:
Your guess is as good as, and probably better than, mine in this area.

HTH.

>I'm a FoxPro developer. I love FoxPro. But I will some other inputs to explain the Company I work for, why to stay in FoxPro and why not to switch to Oracle’s or DB2 databases.
>The path we want to go is Web-Driven applications or Citrix Client based applications.
>Have in consideration, Cost, Security, OOP, Reliability, Future & Product Market Path.

>Thanks.
