I have two tables. The main table is a list of names with no dates. The second table is a list of activities by names with dates. I link the two tables using a left outer join so I list all of the names from the first table whether they have an activity or not. The problem is, I want to restrict the report to only show a certain date range of activities, but when I put a date range in record selection it only shows the names on the report that have an activity, not all the names are shown. I want to show all the names so that I can show names with zero activity for instance, but at the same time I want to show activities for a certain date range.

How can I fake out Crystal to make this happen? Thanks for your help.

I thought about using VFP to filter on date range before I run the CR, but then I can't get the report I want using CR in stand-alone mode. I want to be able to run the report with or without VFP as needed.
