>Am just starting on a small from our database (VFP) to a Notes database and I have suggested we use XML to move some info back and forth. I noticed that in the notes for CURSORTOXML() that it gives 3 basic options for the XML output (Element-centric [the default], Attribute-centric and Raw).

It´s very difficult to tell what´s "the best" version... that will depend upon the circunstance. You´ll note that Attribute-centric will generate an output smaller than the Element-centric, so, you may choose for that one if you´re dealing with huge documents. But, if you need to extend the content of the document generated, may you´ll want to work with element-centric output.

As I say on the beginning, that´s a hard question to answer, and you must take a look know exactly what you need.
