For your VFP projects one easy solution might be to use Visual Source Safe.

I'm only working with my notebook, even when I'm in the office. In the office I attach a display, mouse, keyboard, speakers and the LAN cable. This way I have a complete office "workstation". On my server and on my notebook VSS is running. This way I can check out and synchronize my VFP projects easily. Outlook has a possibility to take folders offline, so email isn't a problem. What is still missing in my concept is how to keep folders containing other files in synch.
