Hi Armin,

VSS sounds like an interesting option. I need to go beyond that because, as you allude to, there is a need to keep folders and other files in synch. Laplink has a great feature called "clone folder". You pick a folder on each machine (you need Laplink running on both machines), and it makes them exact duplicates of each other (one folder is the master, or 'from' folder).

The only issue with this method is that if you accidentally mix up the 'from' folder and the 'to' folder, you blow away all of your work (I've done it once in 2 1/2 years, and it wasn't too bad as I had a backup).

The Windows XP Synchronizer is so close to be exactly what I need, but it's got one or two little pieces of functionality missing that make it useless. You basically clone your network folders so you can 'access' them while disconnected. It then updates any changes you made when you reconnect. But it can't seem to handle deletions, which is critical.

On another note, did you ever get your percetage textbox working? I ended up creating one which I have working pretty well (though not in grids yet). I ended up putting one textbox on top of another in a container. The hidden textbox is bound to the data field, and the top textbox acts as an interface. So you get data binding. It works very well - though I haven't yet figured out how to get it to work in a grid (because containers don't have a control source - or some similar reason).

Take care,

David

On my server and on my notebook VSS is running. This way I can check out and synchronize my VFP projects easily. Outlook has a possibility to take folders offline, so email isn't a problem. What is still missing in my concept is how to keep folders containing other files in synch.
