Put a field in report where you want to see numbers (usually on the left). In the expression put 1 and check Count in calculations. This would do it.

If you want to know total number of pages, you can either find out, how many records are usually on the page (if you don't have Stretch with overflow checked for any of the field) and calculate this total number of pages based on the total number of records or you should run this report twice.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
