I'm with Criag. Perceived speed is very rarely a reason to move to SQL Server. I've seen SQL Server outperform VFP and I've seen VFP blow SQL Server away.

I can add a couple of items to Craig's list of benefits:
- concurrency. SQL Server is capable of handling more concurrent users then VFP
- fault tolerance. SQL Server's hot backups mean that I can backup my database while it is in use. Minimizing possible data loss in the event that something goes wrong.
