thanks for replay, I will answer you quastions and tell me if there need to something.

A<> No memo fields but lot of records half million record.

A<> I did not make that because the customer need the history of his transactions

A<> some times, after the table records has been increased

A<> for sure thee will a deffrent if the com puter is PIII 500 or more

A<> since 3 years not at all the same hardware they use.
Q<> Or a different hub or an old hub in place (time to get a switch?) Is it on an NT system or Novell?
A<> no just one hub of 10base x and they should go for switchs and server OS is Windows NT4 with sp5

in fact I have multy index records but changing it to cdx files I have the feeling of some change will be there but I was trying to be sure of my information.
