Hello YAG, thanks for the quick response. I will tell you what I know now and will work on the other questions tonight and give you an answer tomorrow. Here is a little project info: This is basically a call center application for users to log call information and I am in the training and debugging stage.

Here are some questions I hope you can answer:
1. We need to work out if this is a machine-issue or a project-specific-issue. Does this only happen with this particular project? If you try the project on another computer does the issue repro?

It is not a machine specific issue. The problem occurs on my development machine and on the 3 client machines that I am testing on. All the machines have Windows 2000. This is my first VB.NET app. I have also developed a Dispatching application that will interact with the call center application, but it does not use any check boxes, so I do not know if the problem is project specific or not.

2. By default, the Enter key doesn't do anything to a checkbox. Are you trapping the keypress somewhere?

At first I was not trapping for the keypress and the problem was occurring. I actually put the trap in for the enter key to see if it would get rid of the problem, but it did not.

3. Is there anything else interfering? Can you try disabling your virus checker, and see if the problem repros? Is there anything else running on the machine that might be interacting with the application

I will try disabling my virus protection tonight.

4. Are you running it by pressing F5 in the IDE, or as a standalone application? Does the problem repro in both cases?

It occurs in both cases.
