Thanks for your help on this. I'm trying to follow your suggestions but can't find the properties. I right click on the 'N' and then choose the 'Advanced Settings' tab (nothing else seems applicable) but can't find any of the properties you list. A few are close ('File Caching', 'File Commit') but that's it.
I'm running Novell Client 4.81. A machine running 4.83 didn't have those properties either.
Are these properties that can be changed from the client machine?

>Sounds like Novell is not releasing the file lock. It is not getting the correct message from VFP when VFP releases the file handle. Some things to try (has worked for me in the past)
