This probably doesn't help, but, we do Fund Accounting packages for Cities, Counties, and Schools all in Visual ProMatrix. We have about 250 clients in 10 states (Alaska in 2 weeks) and 30 different accounting products. Probably about 3000 users. I have been programming since core memory days and Promatrix is the best product I have ever worked with. The problem with adding any packaged software to your development environment is that it eventually shoves you into a corner with things you can't change/control. After working with Visual Promatrix since the beta I have never been stuck. If I want a different behaviour than the framework you can make your own additions/changes.
