>OK, I'm sorry for you. But the why not still go on the offensive? Why do they believe that Fox will only be around for five years? Even if MS stopped developing VFP why would your VFP apps not continue to run? Most apps have a lifecycle of more than five years anyway. There are many people on this thread still using 2.6.

It's not me that beleives fox will die, it's the people who confront me all the time that think that. I have in the past gone on the defensive, but that doesn't stop people still pulling out the "uncertan future" lark!

I know it will be around for more than 5 years, it's not me that needs convincing.

>At the end of the day, it is impossible to forecast the future. You should simply chose the best tool for the job to be performed.

That's what logical people like you and me think - Management are not logical people (unless they're good).

>>>Rather than try to defend FoxPro to your managment, why don't you go on the offensive. Ask them what they want to achieve with the introduction of a new development tool? It really isn't clear to me why your management would even consider moving to another platform.

>>They question FoxPro due to their perception of an "uncertain" future and don't want to invest in something that may not be around in 5 years time - that is what they "think".
